Firstly I am assuming that you are using the larger injectors (660cc/min?).Har fulgt ALT av råd. Bilen får jeg til å gå på tomgang med AFR 8 og 9. Prøver jeg å justere injectorer til å gå magrere, stopper bilen..
You need to ensure that the MAP sensor is correctly configured and is giving the expected pressure readings, e.g. ~0.00bar (~100kPa) with the ignition on but engine not running.
Don’t enable closed loop or adaptive fuelling at this stage. Ensure that the AFR corrections table is all zero.
Check your static fuel pressure – it should be approximately 3.0 bar (engine not running).
Use an unmodified base map, e.g. the Golf 18T APY210.map. If there’s a chance that the spark plugs could be fouled/wet then fit a fresh set.
Start the engine. If the engine does not fire up then check the ECU’s LED – it must change to a constant green when you crank the engine.
If the engine does fire and start then monitor the AFR. Initially you want the fuelling to be enough to run cleanly so it can be 12-14 AFR at this point. You need to be able to keep the engine running but not allow the fuelling to run so rich that the spark plugs foul or so lean that the engine cuts out. One option is to use the fuel trim, i.e. from the live adjustments screen tap the 2 key to reduce the fuelling or tap the 3 key to increase the fuelling. Tap the 1 key to zero the fuel trim. Don’t program this trim to the ECU – just use the trim to keep the fuelling in the right area until the engine gets to normal running temperature.
Once at normal running temperature use the fuel trim to give you an idea of how far out the fuelling is and in what direction. If you need to reduce the overall fuelling (-trim) then go to the injector scaling page and reduce the mspb then program the map to the ECU. Make small changes to the mspb, e.g. in steps of 5 units. Repeat this process until you have the engine idling at the correct rpm, with zero fuel trim and the AFR approximately 12-14 AFR. At this stage you can then work on optimising the main fuel table....
The closed loop/adaptive modes are there for keep a normal map in check. This function is not going to function correctly if the engine does not run cleanly already – you must establish an initial base map that allows the engine to run without misfiring or with the AFR off scale.
