Det er et vanlig problem at luft trenger inn fra speilhuset, fjern deksel og diskant og tett potensielle lekkasjer til speilet med silikon, sikaflex eller noe annet seig guffe som kan gjøre jobben..

Har prøvd, ble ikke borte. Jeg fjernet deksel og diskant og stappet fullt av guffe inn der, men neida. HAr du et bilde som du kan vise meg med pil hvor jeg må tette? Hadde satt veldig pris om noen kunne ha vist meg hvor jeg skal tette, siden jeg tydeligvis ike fikk det til selv.

Tror jaggu lyden er borte nå jeg. Har kjørt 15 mil uten å høre noe som helst. skal legge ved bilde hvor jeg tettet med gummi,men må finne en mer permanent løsning siden jeg kanskje har fått fikset problemet.

It's back. Hvordan blir jeg kvitt lyden? Kan jeg bytte ut noe eller? Vil gjerne ha en permanent løsning som faktisk funker. Kan ikke tenke meg at alle som har den lyden faktisk bare kjører med den. Hjelp!!!!

vel, jeg så noe annet nylig som kanskje kan hjelpe deg, det gjelder riktignok MR2 men så langt jeg kan huske ser denne biten av MR2 og Celica ganske likt ut. Du må registrere deg for å kunne si diskusjonen, men her er første post:

There have been many posts regarding the extremely annoying wind noise coming from around the tweeter speaker/door mirror area. My car also suffered this problem. It seriously affects the driving experience. Turning up the steroeo isn't really an option!! I have identified the REAL problem and can offer one solution (there will be others).

(i) Some wind noise can be attributed to failed door mirror seals. This is well documented:

Many have used this method (including myself) with limited effects and results.

(ii) There are posts claiming to have solved this by replacing door seals. I never contemplated this and the cost would be prohibitive and there is no real guarantee of success.

I approched the problem methodically over several days trying the following:
(a) sealing every joint ( or so I thourght) with masking tape and entering and leaving the vehicle through the passenger door to road test the effects. (TOTAL WASTE oF TIME);
(b) I assumed that air was getting into the passenger compartment through a gap(s) in the seals. By using a carton of talc and a hairdryer I was able to prove that nothing was getting in. (VERY MESSY)

THE CAUSE.
Air is passing over the plastic channel which guides the door window. This is on the door mirror mounting bracket and is the vertical section (Between the mirror housing and the door glass on the outside).

If you have the door open and window down, Then raise it you will see that the outer lip of the guide distorts as the window rises. When the window reaches its full height you will see that there is a slight 'bow' in this lip and the seal isn't sitting flush with the glass. When you close the door the glass is pushed out by the seals but still there is still a minute gap between the plastic lip and the glass. This minute gap is the cause of ALL of the wind noise.

The SOLUTION

Using velcro (the matted side - not the hook side) - This is glued on the outer side of the channel such that the matted side lies against the glass as the window is raised and lowered. The material has sufficient padding to fill the gap and doesn't create drag and won't affect the operation of the window.

The other solution would be to buy a replacement door moor mounting bracket. Very expensive I would think. Obviously I cant say how long this soluion will work for. But at least the problem has been identified.....Finally!!!

Ok I just did this today and for what it's worth this is what I did.
Get together a length of self adhesive black Velcro (the loop piece not the hook piece). Some cotton buds and some AF spray or similar stuff like isoporpyl alchohol. Scissors. A small screwdriver and a pair of taper nosed pliers and a biro.
Open the door and drop the window. You're looking at the short vertical channel that the front edge of the window runs into. Use the cotton buds and cleaning fluid to thoroughly clean the inside of the channel.
Then trim any excess backing off the Velcro and push it into the channel with the black facing into the car. Draw the line of the channel on the backing with the biro and then cut it to size.
peel about 5mm of backing down from the top and carefully place your strip into the channel (black facing into the car) Make sure the top bit is sticking then carefully peel the backing downwards using the taper nosed pliers. Use the small screwdriver to press the Velcro against the side of the channel so it's nicely stuck in place. Power the window up and that's it.
It sounds a fiddle but it's 5 mins work.

Har ingen bilder, men slik jeg forstår det er det snakk om den føringen ved speilet som ruten går mellom når du hever glasset, formet som en trekant hvor du har speilet på ene siden og diskant osv på den andre.

Så jeg skal liksom knø borrelåstape på insiden av kanalen og insiden av døren slik at jeg bretter den rundt kanten? Var slik jeg forsto det, men ville ha et bilde for å bekrefte det. Ingen her som har fått bort lyden og har bilder av fremgangsmåten?

Jeg hadde susing ved speilet, men etter at jeg tettet med rutelim under pakkningen ved hjørne der speilet går innpå døra har lyden blitt borte.

Slik har jeg gjort det. Er ikke sikkert det ble rett. Har ikke testkjørt heller, men men.
