Men så er ikke jeg et engelsk geni
Keep in mind that in order to use head studs you NEED to get the bores refinished. Otherwise you will LOSE power because studs distort the bores differently then bolts, so the rings will no longer seal correctly. Just letting you know.
Don't ever reuse stock headbolts, bolts are designed with a specific ammount of stretch in mind and once you've used them they are junk.
In the case of the studs, they will indeed provide more clamping force on the gasket, that is because they have opposing forces, both pulling up from the threads in the block, and down from the threads in the head with the nut on them. It is this difference in force that causes the bores to distort differently then they do with bolts, which pull only from the block. If you install them without refinishing the bores you will still get an increased clamping force on the head gasket, but you will lose power, mileage and get more oil contamination because your rings are now no longer sitting evenly in the bores. In extreme cases it can also lead to destroyed engines because the rings are the primary way the pistons shed heat. When contact with the bore walls is broken, the pistons retain the heat, get soft, and melt/crack. Of course, this would probably only happen if you were under a heavy load for an extended period of time, but regardless, you will still be down on power, and dumping more unburnt fuel into the oil.
trur ikke du behøver og tenke på det problemet!
etter som jeg forstår så mener han at blokka må streeborres før du montere arp studs! men det behøver du ikke på denne motoren!
